Enjoy Khorat Trip

Welcome to my blog again.
Today, I am proud to present my video of my summer trip at Khorat. There are many interesting places; Palio, Save-One Flea Market, Phimai historical park. So, I would like to introduce brief history about these places.

Palio

Near the north entrance of the Khao Yai National Park you can find a new shopping centre. Palio Khao Yai is built as a small Italian village with narrow streets filled with lots of small shops.
A little square, Piazza Palio, holds a few restaurants but also throughout the village you will find many places to eat and drink. It’s great to just strawl around and visit the many shops.

Save-One Flea Market  (Nakhon Ratchasima)

This huge evening and night market has private stalls selling antiques, used books, clothing, plants, pets, household goods and more. There is also an extensive food court, stalls selling take out food, produce, meat, eggs and other food items.

Phimai historical park

The Phimai historical park protects one of the most important Khmer temples of Thailand. It is located in the town ofPhimai, Nakhon Ratchasima province.                     The temple marks one end of the Ancient Khmer Highway from Angkor. As the enclosed area of 1020x580m is comparable with that of Angkor Wat, Phimai must have been an important city in the Khmer empire. Most buildings are from the late 11th to the late 12th century, built in the Baphuon, Bayon and Angkor Wat style. However, even though the Khmer at that time were Hindu, the temple was built as a Buddhisttemple, as Buddhism in the Khorat area dated back to the 7th century. Inscriptions name the site Vimayapura (which means city of Vimaya), which developed into the Thai name Phimai.
